Poem was read by Natalie and 10 year old Benny. Written by-DAN FOSTER ODURO We are never too old, Our ambitions still feel as young as yesterday The bloodline of our foremothers has been built with kindness, wisdom and strength. Kindness woven with the patience of our bonwire Kente Wisdom brewed and drunk in a calabash of Nsafufuo Strength reincarnated in the spirit of Yaa Asantewaa We are never too old, We climb highest on the stairs of tradition Our souls nurtured by steadfastness Our Beauty defined by the colours of the rainbow Our brains the shining star wherever we are For 30 years, we have seen our baby-steps turn to slaying giants. We have witnessed subdued young ladies become the voice for the unheard. Cultural heritage has been the flagship of our endeavours. Our progress has encountered challenges along the way, but courage was our friend. We are never too old, We will keep growing talents Rooted in magnanimity Our branches spreading far and wide As our leaves shade away the scorching sun We will look beyond the sweat of our labour Our success will be read by The Fontomfrom From far and near, we will gather excellence by the sound of the Dawuro. We will continue to be the ultimate believers of the efficacy of our Ghanaian culture Fed beyond the black star and away from vultures Kokromoti a yɛn san ho mmɔ pɔ Sei sei deɛ, yɛn ti, ɔbaa tɔ tuo a, ɛtwere ɔbaa dan mu. We at Miss Ghana UK do realise, dua kontonkyikuronkyi na ɛma yɛ hunu odwomfo. We are the true sculptors of shaping dreams The platform to develop and build one’s self-esteem. Ayekoo
