Yana Toma grew up in London since the age of 8, surrounded by a loving family. Not surprisingly, Yana Toma has such a wonderful voice because the love of music is very common in their family.
Yana's mother was an opera singer with a beautiful voice for a long time, but with the advent of the family, she decided to leave the profession and dedicate herself entirely to the family. Yana's parents immediately saw the girl’s tremendous musical potential and decided to make her a truly fateful gift - karaoke. Yana was delighted with such a gift and spent a lot of time at karaoke singing her favorite songs. Yana didn't have a favorite genre of music back then. She listened to everything, and now she continues to believe that there is no point in focusing on one genre because an artist must express his emotions as they are, and obsession with one genre will only get in the way. However, even then, she had favorite artists whose songs she performed most often. Among their favorites were Celine Dion and Tina Turner. To this day, they remain one of Yana's favorite artists. According to her, she still has recordings where she sings their songs.
Yana enjoyed growing up in London. This city has taught her a lot, thanks to its multiculturalism and traditions. First of all, it helped her to grow with a strong character and to express her emotions as clearly as possible through songs. Growing up, her voice only got better, but she was determined that she wanted to achieve even greater success in music, and therefore at the age of 16 she began to write her own songs. Although the first songs were relatively simple, still continually writing songs, she gained experience, and after a while, the lyrics of her songs became much better. Over the years, this has become one of the basic rules for Yana, which she still follows today. If you really want to succeed in something, whether it's music or anything else, the only surefire way to do it is to gain experience through practice. Only by trying everything yourself can you achieve the desired result.
Of course, getting on the music scene is a challenging task, and Yana understood it perfectly. For a start, she and her friends just recorded songs. These songs were both in lyrical and more in the dance direction. Although many of these songs were quite good, the lack of proper marketing simply did not allow people to learn about them, and as a result, few people heard these songs. This was followed by recordings of covers and live performances in front of small audiences. Here, her powerful melodic voice could be fully revealed, and at the same time, it was a perfect way to train to perform in front of people. The audience liked Yana's performances, but as in the previous case, few people learned about them. But there was a plus. Live performances often lead to useful meetings and acquaintances. More and more people associated with the music industry began to find Yana, and after a while, she even started to participate in collaborations with other artists.
One such collaboration was working on two songs with Krept & Konan, namely “Number 13” and “My Name” on the Young Kings album back in 2013. This collaboration allowed Yana to delve even deeper into the music industry and see the process from the inside.
In the following years, Yana continued to be actively involved in music, writing songs, and performing in front of small audiences, but it did not bring success. However, having gathered her will in her fist and met with certain people, in 2020, she decided to release her first single officially.
The song "Next 2 You" was released in 2020 and became Yana Toma's first official single.
Beatfreakz, who is quite famous in the music industry, helped to produce this song. He already produced hits for artists such as Ellie Goulding, Usher, Sean Paul, and others. She met him through mutual acquaintances, and soon they began to create a beat for this song. The beat became the basis for "Next 2 You", and on its base, the lyrics were created. The rhythm of this song was danceable from the very beginning, and that is why Yana Toma wanted to reinforce this energy with a text that will be close to many people. The song itself is obviously about human vulnerability and filled with strong feminine energy.
"Next 2 You" turned out to be an excellent start and received good feedback from listeners. This time, an easy marketing strategy allowed a lot of people to learn about Yana Toma, which meant they would be waiting for new songs. Without thinking for a long time, Yana set to work and soon presented her second single called "Drunk Text" to the world. This song, by analogy with the first single, had a dance beat but a changed theme. The song reveals the problem of complex and unequal relationships, in which one of the partners gives much more than he receives. The song allows you to understand that you should not let influence your self-esteem and think about whether you want to continue such a relationship. The song is aimed primarily at female audiences because it has strong female energy.
Yana was not going to suspend the pace of the song release and was constantly working on releasing singles for her fans as soon as possible. Thus, the third single called "Tease Me" was released in early December 2020. To date, this is the only single from Yana Toma, which has not been recorded music video. The fourth and last single to date, called "Fire" was released in February 2021, and at the same time, a music video was released on the official YouTube channel YanaTomaVEVO. This song is markedly different from the previous ones, as the vocals that change from time to time pronounced hip-hop elements and the tempo, which is much faster than in her earlier songs and is as much as 170 BPM.
As you can see, so far, all the songs released by Yana Toma were liked by most listeners, and this is not surprising. A wonderful and pleasant voice combined with incendiary music and lyrics that express emotion instantly fascinate the listener and help simply enjoy good music. In turn, we can be sure that Yana Toma has a great future ahead of her, and she will continue to release singles that she wants to listen to again and again, and later we will see a full-fledged EP.
