The guys became close friends, starting from the moment they began their studies at school. In addition to visiting sports activities together, the guys showed interest in music simultaneously. So, their sound is often defined as an old-school rock or rock and roll, which is not surprising, taking into account that the guys themselves have not once stated that they were inspired by old-school rock-blues-soul-funk-jazz artists of the 20th century. If we pay attention to more modern representatives, then the musicians were inspired by certain artists from modern American rock and roll school such as The Growlers, Hornet Leg, Sic Alps.

The first attempt to create a rock band happened in 2014 when the guys began the music project named Babe the Gangup. After a few live shows, the guys change the name of the band. Being a small local band, the guys managed to release only one single called Babe. This song was re-released under the Vista Kicks name later. They released their first studio record in 2016. The debut work of the group under the new name was EP Chasing Waves, which consisted of five tracks. The intense instrumentalism of extended play, combined with soft vocals, allowed the guys to collect positive feedback, which inspired them to continue the work. The guys gave several concerts in support of their first studio recording, after which they began recording a full-length studio album called Booty Shakers' Ball, consisting of 15 songs. The most popular song from this album is the Gotta Get Away song. The guys gave several gigs all over the United States in support of the release of the album, after which, after a few months, they started working on new releases.

New releases were not long in coming. After a few months of hiatus, Vista Kicks returned with a new studio album called Twenty Something Nightmare in the summer of 2018. It was the first album the band embarked on an international tour to support the release. So, in addition to performing at venues such as The Troubadour and El Rey Theatre, in the same year, the guys performed at their first major music festivals, namely: KAABOO Festival and SХSW. The guys went to Europe, where they gave several performances in 2019, and closer to summer, they went with the touring program to the UK, where they gave more than a dozen concerts. After that, the guys returned to the United States, where they had some more significant performances, which were recorded and later processed, and generally returned to their home studio in Los Angeles to continue the work on the new release.

In the summer of 2020, the guys released their third studio album, which is somewhat different from the previous ones.

So, "Chateau Mae Mae" included many tracks from past albums and several fresh songs. A distinctive feature of this album is the presence of female vocals.

Vocalist Audra Mae took part in the creation of the album, which gave the songs a slightly different, new sound. The guys rethought some of the songs, and in addition to vocals, they significantly changed the instrumental sound. Vista Kicks have already announced the date of new concerts for the fall of 2020 and the spring of 2021: several performances with Andrea to support the summer album, as well as several solo performances, have been announced. We would like to believe that all the events of 2020 did not influence the young group too much, and they will continue to delight us with new releases and performances in the future.
