Prince Bright has had a difficult career, full of joy and sadness, but now he is ready to bring joy with his songs.
Prince Bright was born in Kokomlemle, Ghana. Perhaps it was thanks to this city where he grew up that his love of music was passed on to him. Ghana is famous for her music and incendiary dance rhythms, and it just couldn't help but affect him. He studied at Kings College and then transferred to City Secondary Business College. He studied there quite well, but at that moment, he became actively interested in music. It also helped that Prince Bright began to train his voice around this time, giving him more confidence. After graduating from City Secondary Business College, he entered the Accra Technical Training Center in Ghana's capital, Accra. At that time, in addition to music, he found the direction of Graphics and Design interesting, so he entered this specialization.
The decision to join the Accra Technical Training Center was fateful, albeit for a different reason. It was at this school that he met Ronnie Coaches, who would later become his best friend. Both boys had many common interests, and one of the main ones was music. They both had musical talent, and they just couldn't wait to use it. Together they began to come up with songs, and later they were joined by another member, namely Isaac Shoetan. They often got together, created their own songs, and later decided to form their own band called Buk Bak. To successfully start their careers, they simply needed to sign a contract with a music label, and later they managed to do so with Abib Records.
After a while, Buk Bak released their first album called "Komi Kἐ Kena". The album did not gain widespread popularity, but it was enough to attract people's attention. The next two albums called “Awἐnsἐm” and “Nkomhyἐ” only consolidated the young artists’ success and spread their popularity among the people. Even though the group was doing quite well, Isaac Shoetan decided to leave the group and do other projects. Despite Isaac leaving the band, Prince Bright (then Bling Sparkles) and Ronnie Coaches continued to develop the band. At this time, they decided to work with another record company, called Agicoat records. Together with him, they recorded a new album called "Sika Korkor" which became their first truly successful album, was nominated for many awards, and even won 3 awards at the Ghana Music Awards. This success was phenomenal, and Buk Bak became famous throughout Ghana.
Such a wild surge of popularity allowed them to hold grand live performances and move on to other projects. In 2004, they released the album Gold Coast. Despite the band’s success, in 2006, they decided to disband it and engage in solo projects. Of course, despite the breakup of the band, they continued to be good friends and support each other's solo projects.
Then Bling Sparkles decided to record his own solo album, which he released in 2005 and was called "Light Over Darkness". Of course, the band Buk Bak’s fame provided good sales, but still, the primary role was played by his voice. One of the biggest hits of the album was the song "Condom". After releasing this album, Bling Sparkles decided to leave Ghana for a while and move to the United States to do other projects. They have been building solo projects for almost six years, but in 2012 they decided to return to the stage together as Buk Bak, which caused a real sensation. Their album Fisherman Anthem gained tremendous popularity due to the incendiary dance beats, incredible energy of the duo, and of course, the powerful voice of the Bling Sparkles. Together they managed not only to develop their own band but also to help many other talented performers. Among them were Castro, Buky Core, K-2, and the now popular 4x4. This desire to help did not go unnoticed, and even among the show business Bling Sparkles and Ronnie Coaches have earned the fame of not only talented artists but also terrific people.
Unfortunately, in 2013, Ronnie Coaches died suddenly of heart problems. It was immense grief not only for family and friends, but also for fans of the band, and of course Prince Bright himself. Of course, after his death, there was no talk of looking for a replacement for him in the band, and Buk Bak officially ceased to exist. Bling had a hard time with the death of a friend and decided to retire from the music business for a while. This brought him back to America, where he lived in New York. There, he worked on various projects for a long time, and little by little, his life began to improve. In 2016, he got married. Eventually, he decided to start from scratch and went into show business now known as Prince Bright. His second solo debut took place in 2018 with the single “Small Thing” and “Pioto Photo”. His return to the music scene caused an unexpected stir in Ghana, and fans were happy to return of there idol.
Thanks to a powerful voice, Prince Bright was able to return to the professional scene quickly, and in 2019 was able to release not only his EP called "11:11 The Awakening", but also to team up with Sarkodie on "Oofeets". New music was not his only goal. When he returned, he wanted to continue the work they had once started with Ronnie, namely to help other novice talented performers by expanding their own recording studio. Currently, this project is still under active development, but it may be implemented very soon.
2020 turned out to be quite a challenging year for performers. Many of them were forced to postpone their concerts and any live performances. Besides, a large number of albums and EPs were canceled. Prince Bright, like many other artists, decided to use this opportunity to improve his music, and in 2020 released 2 of his new hits, namely "Pray" and "Pilla" (feat. Cina Soul). Although "Pray" was liked by the listeners, it was not very popular, unlike "Pilla". This song was able to get into many ratings of the best Highlife songs of 2020, both in Ghana and in some other countries.
Currently, in early 2021, Prince Bright continues to actively develop both music and other projects. His immediate plans include the release of his first solo album as Prince Bright, the expansion of his recording studio, and of course, new collaborations. We look forward to new hits from Prince Bright, and we are sure that he will not fail.
