PINK

A woman with a great number of talents, from singing to dancing, acting and modeling Pink belong to the list of the best-selling artists of the world, as well as Taylor Swift, Eminem, Celine Dion, Madonna, etc.

Almost every album, released by Alecia Beth Moore, known as Pink received platinum certifications and positive acclaims from the music critics. The artist possesses not only a beautiful voice and a creative mind. She also draws an eye because of her extraordinary image with punk elements, such as her short hairstyle. Additionally, Pink always impresses her fans and concert visitors with just amazing stage performances, full of acrobatic tricks and maneuvers.

At the beginning of autumn of 1979, an emergency nurse Judith Moore gave birth to Alecia Moore in the Keystone State - Pennsylvania. Born to a family with Irish, German, Judish and Lithuanian roots and ancestors, Alisha grew up in Doylestown, where she attended Kutz Elementary School, Lenape High School and Central Bucks West High School. Her father played guitar and sang songs for her and this led to her music admiration from an early age and aspiration to become a rock star. When Alicia was at the tender age of 10 her parents divorced.

Since her early childhood, Alicia was recognized as a gifted girl: she had an expressive strong voice and a distinct deep timbre. During high school, the girl began singing in the band called “Middleground”, which quickly disbanded after failing to win the title of the best group in the local competitions. Being a teenager, Pink wrote poetry that her mother used to call dark and nervous, though deep.

A 14 years old gifted teenager started to perform in various clubs. At this time Alicia changed her name to Pink. It was also connected with the fact her friends had been calling her so for already a few years. But the main inspiration for such an alias is the film character from Quentin Tarantino’s movie “Reservoir Dogs”. Later, the singer admitted that her youth was quite extreme and engaging: the girl was fond of skateboarding and hip-hop, she was interested in rave culture - she was never afraid to take risks and experiment with her appearance and outfit.

The first serious attempts to join the show business and music industry were made in the middle of the 1980s when Pink with her girlfriends created R&B band “Choice”. The young talents sent their first song to the “LaFace Records” label in Atlanta. Almost immediately the label’s producer got the recording he flew in to see the girls’ performance. It was not in vain, as far as the contract was signed in short terms after the meeting. The ladies moved to Atlanta and their dream came true - they recorded an album, though it was not released. But the pleasant fact is that the band’s song “Key to My Heart” was chosen as a soundtrack to the “Kazaam” fantasy comedy film. After some period of time, the producer made Pink decide whether she starts a solo career, or goes home and does what she wants. At the end of the 20th century, “Choice” disbanded and Pink began her work on the debut solo album. Her first track "There You Go", which was released in February 2000, immediately entered the charts in English-speaking countries. It hit the 7th position on the Billboard Hot-100 music chart, as well as the top 10 tracks in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Pink’s debut album “Can’t Take Me Home”, described as full of club-ready dance-pop productions managed to take 26th place in the US Billboard 200 and receive several platinum certifications. The song "There You Go" was one of the most successful in the singer's first album, but not the only successful one. Songs such as "You Make Me Sick" and "Most Girls" also appealed to listeners, and hit various charts around the world. A year later Pink collaborated with Christina Aguilera, Maya and Lil’ Kim. They presented and performed a cover version of the “Lady Marmalade” song, which became the soundtrack of the musical “Moulin Rouge”. The success of the young singer was also facilitated by the release of an extravagant and frank video, which was constantly broadcasted on all the music channels, and was subsequently awarded by the MTV Video Music Award in the Video of the Year nomination.

The singer's second album called "Missundaztood" was really unusual. Although this album had similar ideas to the usual style of the artist, still conceptually it was completely different. Pink did not want her fans to think of her being a pop singer. Thus, singles “Get the Party Started” and “Don't Let Me Get Me” were included in the tape and made everyone sure she is both pop and rock star.

After the release of the album, Pink experienced the peak of popularity. The artist’s songs hit the most solid music charts in Europe, New Zealand, Australia and the US. Millions of album copies were sold all over the world, and the singer won the World Music Award in the category "Best Selling American Pop Rock Artist".

In 2002, Pink went on a grand tour in America, Europe and Australia. She also performed several concerts as a part of the tour of a rock singer Lenny Kravitz.

Three years from 2003 to 2006 were highly productive for Pink. The star released two of her studio albums running under the titles “Try This” and “I’m Not Dead”, which brought to life such hit singles as “Trouble”, “God is a DJ”, “Last to Know”, “Cuz I Can”, etc. At the same time, Pink recorded a soundtrack to the American action comedy film “Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle” and received two Grammys. After a world tour, the singer collaborated and recorded songs with Justin Timberlake, Annie Lennox and Natalie.

Two other albums “Funhouse” and “The Truth About Love” repeated the success of the previous ones and received gold and platinum certifications. 2014 in its turn was marked by the collaborative album “Rose Ave” recorded with Dallas Green, who was the vocalist of the “City and Colour” band.
