Pia Mia Perez, now known as Pia Mia, has a lovely and inspiring success story that made her what she is today.

She was born on September 19, 1996, in the far and beautiful territory of Micronesia in Guam. Since childhood, the girl showed extraordinary artistry and very quickly fell in love with music. In elementary school, namely in the third grade, she tried herself in school musicals and plays. Her natural charisma and incredible voice helped her to adapt quickly to this business and get roles. One of the key parts for her was Cinderella.

It was thanks to her role in Cinderella's school musical, where she was able to get the lead role, that Mia realized that she wanted to continue making music, but this time everything will be more serious. Over the next few years, she continued to improve her voice, and at the age of 12 she tried herself in a musical talent show. Unexpectedly, she won the local version of this competition and was invited to Dallas, where the international version of this competition took place. Of course, this time everything was more serious. Rivals with a strong voice, prepared, and possibly with more experience in music competitions competed with her. Despite all this, Mia decided not to give up and to give her all. One of its features was the contrast against the background with other participants. The fact is that many of them performed standard beautiful songs, with gorgeous outfits, calmly and elegantly. But not Mia. She chose a song from the famous Les Miserables. Instead of a beautiful dress, she was dressed in a plain and even a little dirty and torn outfit to convey the song’s image even more. This was one of the factors that stunned the judges and brought Pia Mia such a coveted victory.

Winning a competition of this level gave the young Mia even more self-confidence and strengthened the girl's desire to pursue a music career. Mia's parents always supported her in everything, so when the girl wanted to pursue a music career, they tried their best to help her. To do this, her mother even agreed to fly with her to Los Angeles when the girl was about 13 years old. Winning a music competition was a serious card in the girl's arsenal in addition to her voice. One of the primary purposes of the visit was to study how the music industry works. The further the girl plunged into the music industry, the less she wanted to leave it.

Soon after moving to LA, she was discovered by producer Babyface, who helped her in her early years. After she understood the basics of the music business, Mia started working with producer Nic Nac, who helped her a lot with the promotion. YouTube helped them a lot too. Since the release of this platform, it has helped a massive number of people to realize their dreams by showing their talents to other people. One of these people was Mia. She often exhibited covers of various songs and later attracted attention. Kim Kardashian also played an important role in her current popularity. The fact is that while Pia Mia was in LA, she managed to make many friends among celebrities. One such celebrity was Kylie Jenner. She invited Mia to a family dinner where she sang a cover of the song "Hold On, We're Going Home." Kim posted a video of this performance on her social networks, and soon more people learned about Mia. The video became so popular that shortly after its publishing, it gained more than a million views. From that moment on, Mia became more active in music.

Immediately after this video became popular, she released her first song called "Red Love,” which appeared along with the music video. To date, this video has been viewed more than 11 million times. Such a successful start allowed her to release later her first EP called "The Gift." It included eight songs, and it was distributed free of charge. The EP’s success and the singer’s spectacular appearance on the music scene attracted the attention of Interscope Records, which offered Mia a contract. After signing it, this EP could be placed on the iTunes platform. EP himself produced Nic Nac, who has worked with Mia for some time and specializes in hip-hop and R&B beats.

After that deal, Pia Mia began to receive various offers, and one of them was the performance of a song for the film "Divergent." The song was called "Fight For You,” and she performed it in a duet with Chance The Rapper. The film became quite popular, and with it became this song. In early 2015, Pia Mia began planning the release of their first debut album. The first song from this album was to be "Fuck With U," feat G-Eazy. Unfortunately, the song remained a single after the release of her debut album was postponed indefinitely.

The next song released by Mia, "Do It Again" feat. Chris Brown and Tyga were an unexpected hit. Do It Again became the first Mia song to hit various charts around the world. To date, the music video for this song has garnered almost 500 million views, which is a stunning result. This song drew the listeners' attention to Mia even more, which only increased the attention to her and her next songs.

Later, after the release of Do It Again, Mia released another song called "Touch." It was already two songs in a row that managed to break into charts in Australia and the UK. To date, the official music video of this song has more than 36 million views.

In 2017, Pia Mia decided to leave Interscope Records. As she later admitted, the reason was that under their leadership, she had almost no creative freedom left. Creative freedom allowed her to quickly release her second EP called “The Gift 2”. Unexpectedly, she tried her hand quite successfully in the film industry, namely in the film After (2019), for which she wrote one of the soundtracks.

In 2020, Mia signed with Republic Records and Electric Feel Entertainment. Immediately after that, she started working on singles, which will be included in her debut studio album, the name of which is still unknown. So far, it is known that the two already released singles that will be included in the upcoming album are "Hot" and "Princess.”

Artistry, hard work, and the ability not to give up helped Pia Mia go from a modest girl from Guam to a real star who has millions of fans worldwide and made it clear that she would not stop. In the future, we will have even more songs, the release of a debut studio album, live shows, and other surprises that are sure to please any of her fans.
