Marioo

Omary Ally Mwanga, better known as singer and songwriter Marioo, was born on December 31, 1995, in Pwani Region, Tanzania. From the boy's childhood, life challenged him a lot. Looking at his success today, it becomes difficult to imagine that he achieved all this himself. 

At school, Omary Ally Mwanga was quite a capable boy, although not all subjects were given to him. Due to some inconvenience, while studying at school, Marioo was forced to leave it. Of course, this led to many problems, as the lack of education had to be replaced by self-education and early work. To provide for himself and his family with money, he was forced to learn a new profession - a mechanic. 

Although you might think that he did not like such work, in reality, it's just the opposite. Marioo has always been interested in technology, especially cars and motorcycles. This work for a long time became for him a stable way of earning. Of course, over time, such monotony began to bore the guy. It was at this time that he began to sing. Although it was just a hobby, some people started to notice that he really does well over time. 

As is often the case, good things in life happen by accident. While working in the same garage, Marioo met another guy who dreamed of becoming an artist. Inspired by this desire, Omary decided to try his hand at music, and as we see today, it was a decision that will radically change his life. 

Together they went to a recording studio. Once there, Marioo already understood that he wanted to change his life and seriously dedicate himself to music. Of course, everything was not as fast as we would like. Starting your career in the music business is probably one of the most challenging tasks. For Marioo, this was no exception. Almost immediately, they faced a lot of problems. Recording, mixing, and other aspects of production were quite expensive and obscure. 

Of course, even after creating a song, you need to promote it, which is probably the most difficult task of all. It was possible to make people really hear the song only through the radio, and as you know, it takes a lot of effort for a beginner's song to get there. The first attempts to broadcast their songs on the radio were unsuccessful. It would seem that it was possible to give up at this point because the music scene was closed without the initial boost of popularity. Still, Marioo had another serious trump card up his sleeve - his ability to write real hits. 

Of course, as a novice artist, he did not have songwriters who would come up with hits for him. As it turned out, he doesn't need them because he himself creates the lyrics of songs that are easy to remember and carry a small story that you want to listen to from beginning to end. Having made a bigger bet on songwriting, he was able to join the music industry quickly. This allowed him to significantly increase his chances of becoming a performer and make the necessary acquaintances in this industry. 

As a songwriter, Marioo has worked with artists such as Nandy, Lulu Diva, Ditto, Christian Bella, and others. After that, the artist finally began to feel more comfortable in the industry, which allowed him to create his first full-fledged single, "Dar Kugumu". Perhaps unexpectedly for him, even the first single became a real hit, after which all of Tanzania learned about the artist. In the same year, 2018, he released several more singles, namely "Wauwe", "Manyaku", and "Ifunanya". 

2018 marked the beginning of his full-fledged career as a performer. His songs quickly spread on the radio and through other media platforms. The popularity came with lightning speed, but Marioo was not confused and quickly took the initiative. Undoubtedly, the lyrics of his songs were the main reason for his success. Even at the beginning of his career, all his songs were close to everyone because their themes were easy to understand. Life problems, social views, love, and more. All these themes were covered in his songs in the first years of Marioo's career. 

In 2019, Marioo took a big step forward by appearing more actively in public and releasing new singles. These singles include "Inatosha", "Raha", "Anyinya", and "Ya Uchungu". At the same time, Marioo began developing his first solo album "Yale", which will include previously released singles. 

2020 has become a real test for the whole world, and of course, musicians are no exception. Due to security measures, all mass events were banned, so concerts became simply impossible. Of course, it is a strong blow for any musician not only financially but also primarily professionally. Despite all these obstacles, Marioo decided not to slow down and actively continued to release new songs. One of the main reasons for this was the release of the album "Yale", which was scheduled for 2020. 

2020 became one of the most productive for Marioo, because it was then that such singles as "Aya", "Unanikosha", "Tikisa", and many others were released. When released, the album "Yale" received positive reviews from critics and ordinary listeners. It contained as many as 20 songs with a total duration of 1 hour 9 minutes. 

In 2021, Marioo slowed down a bit after the crazy 2020 but did not stop working. He has participated in a number of collaborations, including a joint track with Nigerian producer and artist Blaq Jerzee and Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo. Their collaborative track "Sokoma" was a real revelation for many fans of African music genres. The excellent beat from which you immediately want to dance in combination with the styles of three different countries makes this track unique and exciting. 

In addition, Marioo released two other singles, namely "For You" and "WOW". Each of them has already managed to get their own music video. For example, the music video for the song "For You" managed to gain 2.8 million views in just four months, and "WOW" - 500 thousand in just one week after the premiere. 

Marioo continues to actively develop his music career, which allowed him to become one of the most popular performers in Tanzania. Today, millions of people across the country are waiting for new songs and performances from this talented artist because his success story really makes you think about how much the desire to achieve more can change your life.
