An American actress, singer, dancer, producer, and businesswoman with such character traits as enthusiasm, hard work, perseverance, and self-confidence was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1969. A girl from a Puerto-Rican family was raised by Latin American parents in the crime-ridden district of the City that never sleeps. 

Her father, David Lopez, has changed two work positions: at first, he worked as an insurance agent and then - as a programmer in a middle-sized company. Guadalupe Rodriguez, in her turn, was a housewife and took care of 3 daughters: Lesly, Jennifer, and Linda. 

Since her early childhood, Jennifer showed herself as the one with a passionate character: she danced all the time, sang, and adored being a focus of attention. Having recognized her daughter's artistry and never-ending energy, Jennie’s parents decided to get her into a dance studio. At the same time, the talented girl studied vocals and took part in children’s plays. After having entered the Catholic school, she joined a church choir. Jennifer had even more hobbies as a teenager: she attended gymnastic and athletics lessons and played tennis and softball. In 1986 a gifted girl played her first role in the movie “My Little Girl” and understood that her biggest fascinations are acting and singing. However, her parents did not share her willingness to become an actress and forced Jennifer to enter Baruch College for the sake of being a lawyer in the future. The girl showed her short temper by giving up studying and leaving her father's house. 

Living independently, Jennifer spent her time visiting talent agencies, casting calls and auditions. Meantime she performed in nightclubs, starred in music videos and commercials. During half of a year, she toured to Europe as a member of the “Golden Musicals of Broadway” choir and visited Japan with the “Synchronicity” band. At the beginning of the 90s, Lopez appeared in several episodes of a TV show under the title “In Living Color” and such TV series as “South Central”, “Second Chances” and “Hotel Malibu”. Jennifer’s way in a big cinema started from “My Family”, “Money Train”, “Jack”, “Blood and Wine” films. But a serious recognition as an actress came to the artist in 1997, when “Selena” and “Anaconda” saw the world and an actress was nominated for the Golden Globe award. At this time, Jennifer earned her first million for the role in the American crime comedy “Out of Sight”, which was a great success for a Latin American artist. Playing with Richard Gere, Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey and Jane Fonda strengthened her fame and brought an additional dose of public attention. 

Despite a great number of films, TV series and shows Jennifer Lopez starred in she is appreciated more for her singing activity. It all started from her debut single “If You Had My Love”, which immediately peaked American music charts and stayed there for several weeks ahead. At the end of the 20th century, the singer released her debut album “On the 6”, which got positive acclaim from critics and fans. In addition, several music videos were shot and broadcast on huge music channels. 

With such great results, the singer recorded her second studio album “J.Lo”, and released him in 2001. The album immediately entered the Billboard chart, got 4 platinum certifications in the US and was nominated by all the respectable musical awards. 

In a year, a pop star released a compilation album “J to tha L-O!: The Remixes” which also took the top position in Billboard and entered the Guinness book of records. JLo’s third studio album, “This Is Me… Then”, included her calling card - single “Jenny From the Block”. The number of studio albums released by the star now is 8. 

The private life of the celebrity is not less interesting and engaging. Jennifer Lopez was married 3 times. Her first marriage at the age of 28 ended up with a divorce after just 1 year of living together. In spite of getting a job position from Jennifer, her ex-husband started blackmailing her with their home video. However, he was prohibited from doing that according to their prenuptial agreement. In 2010 another idea came to his mind - writing a book about their relations, but his ex-wife was much cleverer than he was and took legal action. As a result, she got a $0,5 million compensation. After some short period of time, she started dating Puff Daddy, who helped her promote and begin her singing career. Nevertheless, they broke up because of the rapper’s bad temper. Another marriage lasted less than a year because of Jennifer’s new crash - Ben Affleck. This relationship was followed by her 3rd marriage with Mark Antony and the birth of twins in 2007. Currently, a world famous star is engaged with Alex Rodriguez.
