James David Maslow or more commonly known as ‘’James Diamond’’ from Big Time Rush is an American-born singer and actor from New York USA.  

Being born into a family of a Jewish father and Catholic mother he ended up being raised Jewish and he ended up attending a Hebrew school six times a week after which later he had his Bar Mitzvah. He overall described himself as a "religious and spiritual person". 

James got into singing at 6 years old when he first began learning how to sing in the San Diego Children’s Choir. And he also had a small role in the San Diego Opera production of La bohème when he was at the age of 10.  

Eventually, he got into an acting camp at ‘’La Jolla Playhouse’’ and managed to attain his first agent at the age of 14. 

In the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts(SDSCPA) James portrayed a different amount of lead roles in different feature productions such as Danny Zuko in "Grease"(In 2004), Marius in "Les Miserables"(In 2006).  

At some point when Maslow was in tenth grade, he transferred to the Coronado School of the Arts(CoSA), and eventually graduated from their musical theatre department somewhere in 2007. 

James’s first-ever debut happened on ‘’iCarly’’ in 2008 where he got to play the role of a nerdy guy named ‘’Shane’’ after whose affection both Carly and Sam competed. Next, after that, he showed up again in 2009 as ‘’Brandon’’ in ‘’UrFRENZ’’ 

Somewhere around 2007 Maslow made an audition tape and sent it to Nickelodeon to be part of their new sitcom.  

Two years later he got the role of ‘’James Diamond’’ which he is quite famously known for and is still remembered well for in the show known by a lot of people as ‘’Big Time Rush’’ together with people like Kendall Schmidt, Carlos Pena, Jr., and Logan Henderson.  

Eventually, the group of 4 for the actual band called ‘’Big Time Rush’’ after which they have released their first album called ‘’B.T.R’’ somewhere around 2010 which sold around 67000 copies in its first week of sales and got awarded the gold by the RIAA sometime later. 

After roughly a year the band has released their second album ‘’Elevate’’ which sold just 3 thousand more copies than its predecessor in its first week.  

Overall Maslow and his bandmates co-wrote 8 out of the 12 songs. 

Next, they released their third album ‘’24/Seven’’ which was released in June of 2013.  

To promote the album to the world, they have gone on a tour that was shared with ‘’Victoria Justice’’ which ended up being called the ‘’Summer Break Tour’’ which started on the 21st of June and ended up on the 15th of August.  

Though sometime this year Maslow and the others have put ‘’Big Time Rush’’ on an indefinite hiatus to focus on solo careers they did perform in a tour before fully calling it in the tour ‘’Big Time Rush Live 2014 World Tour’’.  

So in 2014, he began his solo and his first attempt at it he announced that he would be participating in the 18th season of Dancing with the Stars where he got paired with a professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd.  

This being his first attempt he actually managed to make it to the finals but sadly got eliminated in the first final night. Maslow did finish in fourth place and "in a landslide" won the Twitter poll to perform an encore of his freestyle dance during the season finale. 

James also got cast in the movie ‘’Seeds of Yesterday’’ as Bart Foxworth. After that, he later released his first single ‘’Lies’’ in July of 2015. And in October he released another single ‘’Circles’’ and in addition to his singles he released two covers "Cheerleader" and "One Call Away". 

In 2017 James has debuted his solo album ‘’How I Like It’’ in which he has highlighted the single with an identical name.  

Around the end of 2017, Maslow collaborated with Joshua Shultz on a music video for one of his songs: "Who Knows’’. 

James then eventually competed in 2018 in a TV franchise called Celebrity Big Brother where he got evicted around day 24 and ended up in 6th place and the same year he released his singles "Falling" and "All Day". 

In April of 2019 Maslow has released another one of his singles ‘’Love U Sober’’ after which he has declared that we can expect more singles from him in the future since he is going to start releasing more of them. 

Somewhere in May, he has announced that he is going to be starring in an independent film called ‘’We Need to Talk’’ with the inclusion of co-star Emily Bett Rickards. 

In terms of awards as a solo musician in July 2017, Maslow was declared the winner of Macy's iHeartRadio Rising Star competition and opened the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
