Dominique

Dominique Vellutato is now better known by the abbreviated stage name - Dominique, a Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter who, with her charm and inflammatory nature, was able to reach many listeners. 

She had a very happy childhood, which was spent surrounded by a loving family. Her passion for music came to her quite early. Dominique's father was a songwriter in his youth, so the love of music prevailed throughout the family. Music of different genres was always heard in their house, but the young girl saw something special in each of them. The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and other famous artists and musicians inspired Dominique a little more, and a little later, although at a very young age, she began to write her lyrics. Despite this craving for music, she did not immediately pay as much attention to it as she does now. Dominique was a very active girl. She has always had many hobbies, including sports, mainly volleyball and soccer. She was also doing well with her studies, although it was challenging to combine all the lessons with her studies. Around this time, her thirst for music flared up again.  

After entering the University of California (Berkeley), Dominique realized that she could not do without music, and in parallel with her studies, she began to train vocals and improve her songwriting skills. Summer vacation became the primary time when she could devote herself entirely to the study of music. Such constant training was not in vain, but she had enough skills to find a job related to music after graduating from university. The first such work was the work of the music coordinator for The Voice. This work allowed Dominique to get acquainted with the music industry, and to study certain aspects that she could not learn before. Having gained such musical experience, she realized that now she would have enough confidence and knowledge to start her musical career, and she was right.  

Dominique's first public appearances were not solo. She has appeared in collaborations with other musicians and performers, such as IDN Noice in the song "Talk To My Body" and actor and musician James Maslow in the song "All Day". Both songs went public, and gained popularity in certain circles, generating remixes, and appearing in clubs. 

Sometime after that, Dominique finally released her first single "Convince You", which showed her skills in creating famous songs. The text will be familiar to many, a melody that is suitable for both the dance genre and for a beautiful acoustic performance. 

The single was released in 2018 and gave a powerful start to Dominique, allowing her to start live performances and continue to develop her music career.  

The lyrics of almost all the songs since the release of the debut single have been centered around her own experience and situations from her own life, and this is very much felt, especially in her subsequent songs. "Homesick" became Dominique's next single. Already in this single, you can see how personal this song is because it was written about his recent separation. The song acquired new farms and differed from "Convince You" quite a lot. The track was slower, but he became emotional and clung to his words. The less danceable and more romantic, almost melancholic component gave this song a wonderful acoustic sound and touched the lives of anyone who experienced a similar situation. The singles "Simple Life" and "This Guy" were similar in their motives. If "This Guy" was similar in structure and sound to "Homesick", then "Simple Life" is made in a more Major key, which has a more joyful and inspiring character, which indicates that you can finally move on.  

Dominique's songs do not remain in the same genre, although most of them can be attributed to pop music. Periodically you can see dance music, indie motifs, or even parts of country or soul. One of the last singles of the singer was "What Would You Do" which is performed in an incendiary dance style, showed the diversity of the singer, and once again confirmed how diverse and true her music can be.  

In the future, Dominique will have a long way to go, in which she will undoubtedly give people her songs, which will be personal, both sad and melancholic, cheerful and inspiring, which you want to listen to and which you want to dance to. In late 2020 - early 2021, she can present her first EP, which you will want to listen to.
